FAQ

Galaxy three-phase questions

What is the difference between Galaxy VS, VX, and VXL?
Galaxy VS covers 10–150 kW and is the standard for mid-size data centres and hospitals. Galaxy VX scales from 500–1,500 kVA for large enterprise and colocation facilities. Galaxy VXL (newest, December 2024) delivers 125 kW per 3U module with lithium-ion batteries — built for AI/GPU hyperscale density. All three share eConversion technology for 99% efficiency with Class 1 protection.
My Galaxy 3500 needs batteries — should I replace or migrate?
If the Galaxy 3500 frame and electronics are in good condition and your load hasn’t changed, a battery string replacement extends its life another 3–5 years at a fraction of replacement cost. If the unit is approaching 15+ years or you need additional capacity, migrating to the Galaxy VS gives you the same kVA range with significantly higher efficiency (up to 99% vs ~94% on the 3500). We provide a written cost comparison for your specific situation.
Can you supply and install a new Galaxy VS or VX in Canada?
Yes. We quote the unit, delivery, installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance as a single project. For data centre environments, we coordinate with your facilities team and NOC for scheduled installation windows. Available nationwide.
What does eConversion mode do and should I use it?
eConversion keeps the inverter in parallel with the utility supply, achieving 99% efficiency while maintaining IEC 62040-3 Class 1 protection (zero transfer time). Unlike standard EcoMode which introduces a 4–10 ms transfer gap (Class 3), eConversion is safe for critical loads. For data centres, eConversion is the recommended operating mode.
Do you service Galaxy systems in government and healthcare facilities?
Yes. We hold active federal contracts and service Galaxy systems in hospitals, government data centres, and secure facilities across Canada. Our technicians undergo security clearance processes as required.
