The SRT5000 internal battery uses the APC RBC152 cartridge — a high-rate battery tray designed for the SRT platform. For extended runtime, add SRT192BP or SRT192BP2 external battery enclosures (each adds ~14 minutes at half load).

Battery life: 3–5 years for internal battery. External enclosures follow the same lifecycle. At 5 kVA loads, thermal management of the battery compartment is critical — ensure ambient temperature stays below 25°C for maximum lifespan.

Commissioning note: SRT5000 installation typically requires a dedicated 208V circuit (L6-30R receptacle or hardwired). We include electrical assessment in our installation quote.

SRT5000 questions

What is the difference between SMT and SRT? ▼

SMT is line-interactive with <4 ms transfer time — sufficient for standard servers and networking. SRT is true online double-conversion with zero transfer time — the incoming power is continuously converted through the rectifier and inverter. SRT is required for loads sensitive to any power interruption: medical imaging, precision manufacturing, broadcast, and critical financial systems.

What battery does the SRT5000 use? ▼

The internal battery is the APC RBC152. For extended runtime, add SRT192BP or SRT192BP2 external battery enclosures. Each enclosure adds approximately 14 minutes at half load (2250 W). Multiple enclosures can be daisy-chained for longer runtime.

Does the SRT5000 require 208V or can it run on 120V? ▼

The SRT5000 is designed for 208V input/output (L6-30P plug). It can be configured for 120V output but will be derated. For full 5000 VA / 4500 W capacity, a 208V circuit is required. Our installation quote includes electrical circuit assessment.

How many external battery packs can I add? ▼

Up to 10 SRT192BP/BP2 enclosures can be connected in series. Each adds approximately 14 minutes at half load. For most installations, 1–3 external packs provide 30–60 minutes of runtime, which is sufficient for generator start-up in most facilities. We size the battery complement based on your specific load and runtime target.

Yes. The SRT5000 is a 3U rack-mount unit (also convertible to tower). Rail kits are included. External battery enclosures (SRT192BP) are 2U each. A typical SRT5000 + 2 external batteries occupies 7U of rack space. We handle rack installation, cabling, commissioning, and NMC3 configuration.
